The 蹤獲扦 Office of Financial Aid continues to serve as leaders in the principles and administration of financial aid by elevating the needs of students, and by delivering limits with grace and respect for diverse cultures so that all students and families feel heard and seen. The Colleges cultural diversity requires a practice of continual learning so that equity in policies reflects culturally relevant practices. Staff balance a student-centered culture with the responsible stewardship of all financial aid funds. We emphasize and model the partnership in funding, as students, families and the College work together to develop a financing plan.

These Notes Concerning Your Financial Aid Offer are intended to:

  • Inform and educate students and families about Amherst's financial aid processes, procedures and aid news. 
  • Provide an overview and your next steps in the financial aid process, including the completion of your financial aid application, the finalization of your financial aid offer, and the completion of the federal verification process if your FAFSA form is selected. 
  • Introduce other resources available to you to make your Amherst education a reality, such as family financing options.

Purpose of Financial Aid

The purpose of 蹤獲扦s financial aid program is to provide opportunity for all students to afford the cost of attendance. The Colleges financial aid program is need-based and Financial Aid Offers are equal to calculated financial need. Financial aid is provided through a combination of scholarship, grants and student employment opportunities.
